About Our Firm

The law firm of Saint-Amand, Thompson & Mathis, LLC began in Gaffney in 1969 when C. Emile Saint-Amand and James R. Thompson formed a partnership. Since that time, our firm has grown to help better serve the people of Gaffney and the surrounding communities. Our attorneys, James R. Thompson, Joseph L. Mathis, and Joseph L.V. Johnson welcome the opportunity to assist you. We take pride in serving Cherokee County and its surrounding areas in providing the highest level of quality legal services with experienced counsel.  

 

The firm’s practice areas include Family Court cases such as divorces, custody cases, child support cases, name changes, Guardian ad Litem, mediation, and adoption cases.  We also provide estate planning with Last Will and Testament preparation, powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, and living wills. We have an extensive real estate practice and can help with real estate closings, deed preparations, and real estate contracts.  We also can assist with any general civil litigation including Magistrate’s Court cases, property disputes, mechanic’s liens, Probate Court litigation, and personal injury cases.
